Region - Jacksonville In addition to expanding international port operations (JAXport), the area has both fresh water (St. Johns River) and salt water destinations. The Jacksonville Economic Development Commission has introduced an Action Plan outlining environmental priorities and the City Council recently passed incentives for sustainable building permits.
